Formerly a café-grocery store where the people of Bonneval met, this chalet located in the heart of the old village, bought by Valentine in 2022, has undergone two years of complete renovation carried out by a team of local craftsmen.
Today it is intended to welcome family, friends and you of course!
Chez Matine is a message of love sent by Valentine to her grandchildren. It is also the continuation of a family history in Bonneval started in 1993 by her father Stany.
Today the chalet Chez Matine opens its doors to you to experience beautiful and joyful moments.
It is a 6 rooms of approximately 160 m², comfortable and warm with high quality services, ranked 4 stars ★★★★, 4 peaks ΔΔΔΔ that can accommodate 10 to 12 people in 5 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and 3 shower rooms.
Furniture, decoration, household appliances, dishes, bedding, etc. are new and top of the range.
Internet access via very high speed fiber is free of charge.

Charmed!
Our stay at "Chez Matine" went very well. We really appreciated the booking process, the quick and efficient communication, the many tips from Anne Rives, and the welcome on site from Gilles. We found the accommodation to be as described, very well-equipped (especially the kitchen), quite clean, and very comfortable. The abundant and well-designed artificial lighting compensates for the lack of natural light in this wonderfully renovated barn. A small suggestion regarding linens: hand towels in the bathrooms (only large bath towels were provided).
One point to note is the weak Wi-Fi connection. Its range and capacity were limited to the immediate vicinity of the router. There was no Wi-Fi on the lower floor or outside on the terrace: good news for those seeking a digital detox. (Editor's note: we've since switched to fiber optic internet; there's very high-speed internet everywhere in the chalet. Sorry for the digital detox :-))
The village is full of charm and the shops are ideally located. Everything is within easy reach during the summer! The warm welcome from the locals and neighbors is noteworthy, especially since the village is extremely popular and overrun with tourists during the day. Fortunately, the evenings are quieter, and the village is regaining its tranquility.
The last point regarding the house: the nuisance created by the "café, grocery, tobacco" sign outside. Its impact was significant and caused frequent interruptions from tourists looking for the said business. This unpleasant situation would certainly be very easy to correct by removing the sign to avoid any confusion.
However, this didn't prevent us from fully enjoying the accommodation and its location. It's an ideal starting point for numerous hikes and bike rides. A special mention goes to the neighbors on the same floor, whose wise advice guided us in planning our mountain outings. We also greatly appreciated all their anecdotes about the life of the Bonneval residents. A wonderful encounter, which certainly enhanced our stay! Furthermore, we enjoyed exceptional summer weather. What more could we ask for, other than the chance to return to stay in Bonneval!

Notre séjour "Chez Matine" s’est très bien déroulé. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les modalités de réservation, la communication rapide et efficace, les nombreux conseils d'Anne Rives, ainsi que l'accueil sur place de Gilles. Nous avons trouvé le logement tel que décrit, très bien équipé (surtout la cuisine), assez propre et très confortable. L'éclairage artificiel abondant et bien pensé permet de compenser le manque de lumière naturelle de cette ancienne grange merveilleusement rénovée. Une petite suggestion côté linge de maison: des essuie-mains dans les salles de bain (seules de grandes serviettes de bain étaient fournies).
Un point à mentionner est la faiblesse de la connexion wifi. Sa portée et sa capacité étaient limitées à la proximité immédiate du routeur. Pas de wifi à l'étage inférieur, ni à l'extérieur sur la terrasse: une bonne nouvelle pour ceux qui cherchent une détox digitale.
Le village est plein de charme et les commerces idéalement situés. Tout est à portée de main en période estivale! L'accueil chaleureux des habitants et des voisins est à souligner, d'autant que le village est extrêment populaire et envahi de touristes pendant la journée. Heureusement, les soirées sont plus calmes et le village retrouve sa quiétude.
Le dernier point concernant la maison: la nuisance créée par l’affiche extérieure « café épicerie tabac ». Son impact était non négligeable et a occasionné des interruptions fréquentes de la part de touristes à la recherche dudit commerce. Cette situation désagréable serait certainement très facile à corriger en enlevant l'affiche pour éviter toute confusion.
Cela ne nous a toutefois pas empêché de profiter pleinement du logement et de sa localisation. Départ idéal pour de nombreuses randonnées à pieds ou en vélo. Une mention spéciale aux voisins de palier, dont les conseils avisés ont guidé la planification de nos sorties en montagne. Nous avons aussi bien apprécié toutes leurs anecdotes sur la vie des bonnevalins. Une belle rencontre, qui a certainement agrémenté notre séjour! De plus, nous avons joui d'une météo d'été exceptionnelle. Que demander de plus, sinon la chance de revenir séjourner à Bonneval!

In a magical and authentic place, the old village of Bonneval sur Arc, we enjoyed the splendid setting of Valentine's chalet, the tree trunk frame that supports the lozes roof, the transparent staircase, and all the comfort of the heated floor and the many bathrooms! The generous space of the kitchen and the living space! and outside, only welcoming, friendly people happy to share the history of this village and its customs! And we imagine that each season brings its share of discovery on the fauna, flora and magic of these mountains of the Vanoise!

Dans un lieu magique et authentique, le vieux village de Bonneval sur Arc, nous avons savouré le cadre splendide du chalet de Valentine, la charpente en troncs d'arbres qui supporte le toit en lozes, l'escalier en transparence, et tout le confort du sol chauffant et des nombreuses salles de bain ! L'espace généreux de la cuisine et de l'espace de vie ! et dehors, que des gens accueillants, sympathiques et heureux de partager l'histoire de ce village et de ses coutumes ! Et l'on imagine que chaque saison apporte son lot de découverte sur la faune, la flore et la magie de ces montagnes de la Vanoise !
