We hoped for it, and they did it!
After Thibault’s bronze medal in the men’s ski mountaineering sprint, Thibault Anselmet and Emily Harrop won the gold medal in the mixed ski mountaineering relay at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. That makes two Olympic medals for Bonneval-sur-Arc.
It’s even being discussed on the President of the French Republic’s Facebook page!

If you see someone overtaking you on skis while you go up on the chairlift in Bonneval-sur-Arc, chances are you’re looking at our world ski mountaineering champion. He’s from Bonneval-sur-Arc, and we’re incredibly proud of him.
He’s aiming for the gold medal at the Olympic Games. Everyone tune in to cheer him on from February 19th to 21st, 2026!

Come (again) visit us
As every year since 2018, the cross-country ski resort of Bessans is the first in France to open its slopes. The first tracks are available by means of snow-farming. The resort stored 16,000m3 of snow at the end of last winter under a thick layer of sawdust and spread it over the biathlon ring this week.
The slopes are open from November 2, 2025 at 8 a.m. for the pros and from 1 p.m. also for the general public. We see high level, beautiful technique and it’s nice to slide on the same slopes as the future world champions.

The Iseran pass is open. Summer skiing on the Pisaillas glacier too, from 2725 to 3300 meters above sea level, until Sunday July 6, 2025 and from 6:45 a.m. to noon.
It is 15 km from the Pré-Catin and Michka chalets. In addition, the road is beautiful. Just watch out for marmots on the road on the way up 🙂

No! We are in Bonneval-sur-Arc. The Arc has ‘slightly’ overflowed. We had to rake to find the pretty little pebbles that make the charm of the path of little happiness. A little Japanese happiness, at the moment.
Autumn is beautiful in Bonneval-sur-Arc.

There is one thing we really like here : the return from the East, a weather phenomenon which brought us 1.80 m of powder last week and 70 cm on Sunday. It’s simple, freeriders have snow up to their chests.

A rare fly was discovered in Bonneval-sur-Arc. No vulgar name, it only has a Latin name: Bibio lautaretensis, which shows how it plays classy…
Looked at like that, it is not that pretty, but we’re proud of it. What is scarce is more valuable for us. 🙂

The Col de l’Iseran which allows you to pass from the Maurienne valley (Bonneval-sur-Arc) to the Tarentaise valley (Val d’Isère) is closed in winter and reopens around June. June 9 this year.
